On Zack's excellent Vista Knowledge Base under Sharing files and folders in Vista it says
"You can type in users on another computer as well, so if Bob on "laptop3" wanted to access, you can type in LAPTOP3\Bob (so the computer name, backslash then username). "
I have tried this multiple times on multiple machines (currently have 3 Vista beta2 machines up in a wired workgroup). It so far hasn't worked for me, is there something I'm missing?

add user from another computer to share
I too am having similar difficulties. None of the machines on my network (XP, or otherwise) can share the files on the Vista machine. WE can see the machine with the other workgroup computers, but the only available folder is users and it is inaccessible. All of my file sharing between the XP computers is fine. Any help out there?
